I have been asked to insert occasional items from the Bible in the form of short extracts or sentences so that they can provide the reader with a thought to meditate on.  I would agree that often such items seem to arrive at a time just when they are needed.

If you have a favourite sentence you think will be helpful to others do let me know and I may include it.

So here we go – I will try to put short sentences in from the OT and the NT and where possible in Church Seasonal Order’ at least once per week.

As we approach the Christmas Season and will shortly hold our Christingle Service (11 Dec) I am reminded of candles and and thoughts at the core of that service.   So a sentence from John 1.5 reminds us of that:-

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.”

and from Psalm 46.1

“God is our refuge and strength,  a very present help in trouble”

Finally, remember that Gordon Chapel is open daily from about 10am to 4pm to simply rest, think, pray and spend time with God.    Peace be with you all.
