Now I know why I have trouble with my Apple Computer from time to time – it was that Adam & Eve pair again!!
Gordon Chapel will once again host the local ecumenical Christingle Service. But this time it will be held during Epiphany – on 7 January 2018, I think the first time it has not been held here in Advent.
Please encourage all children that you know to come and join us – children’s organisations (Brownies, Cubs, Take Note etc) are all very welcome.
Get it in the diary now!!

Holy Days when we remember saints and others – you can google for more information about them. I include now and then more information about some who are unusual or special, not necessarily saints and not necessarily in our own denominational book of saints, but interesting :- Continue reading “A Church Calendar of Special Days”

On Saturday 2nd December members of Fochabers local churches took part in an Outdoor Nativity Play as part of the Village Association event for that afternoon. A good crowd turned out for the event. The village lights were turned on after the Nativity Scene.
Mary and Joseph arrived and knocked on doors, finding no room until they were allowed to use a make-shift stable in the Village Square, bales of straw made useful ‘furniture’. The local Milano Pizza Parlour delivered a delicious pizza for the hungry pair.
People from the local community who had come to watch the proceedings were invited to play a part by registering at one of 4 stations (a kind of mini-Census). Everyone joined in to make for a happy festive atmosphere. The childrens group ‘Take Note’ sang to the crowd who joined in the carols. The Town Cryer led a ‘conga’ around the square to the song ‘We are marching’.
This was the first time the event had been tried in the Square and so we look forward to doing it even bigger and better next year.
