The following is an appeal received from Amy – please help if you can.
Recently, when thinking about how utterly grim it must be for refugees fleeing Syria, it struck me that for a young child even in normal circumstances, having a favourite cuddly toy can be an enormous comfort. As every charity shop in town has heaps of clean, preloved soft toys, and our house is probably not the only one having a fair pile of extra cuddly toys, does anyone fancy gathering up some to donate to Moray Supports Refugees?
The need is also obvious for children’s and adult’s clothes, bedding and footwear, and these will be gratefully received, sorted, packed and sent out where needed, very soon after arrival at the Chanonry Industrial Estate Depot in Elgin, where Moray Supports Refugees has it’s tiny depot.
If help is needed to get donations to the depot, please get in touch, though best of all, look up the Moray Supports Refugees website to confirm depot opening hours, and go yourself- I think Thursdays between 2.30 and 4.30 or Fridays between 12 and 2. Come and see. And spread the word.
